金鶯隊總教練休瓦特今天說，選擇下放陳偉殷到小聯盟，是「最明智且合理」的調度，要確保球季期間球隊都有左投可用，「陳偉殷完全了解這一安排的背後原因」。
剛拿下第三勝的旅美左投陳偉殷遭所屬的巴爾的摩金鶯隊下放小聯盟，他除透過經紀公司發表聲明，也在個人推特上對球隊這一安排、干擾他的例行調整與作息表達「失望」。
「巴爾的摩太陽報」則報導，陳偉殷在公布上述推文前，休瓦特受訪時的說法是：他在翻譯及金鶯隊的日籍體能教練內藤良的陪同下，向陳偉殷說明暫時下放小聯盟的安排，「陳偉殷完全了解這一安排的背後原因」。
然而，休瓦特在訪問時透露，陳偉殷在十日先發戰紅襪隊時有抱怨身體疲勞，經過額外的休息已好多。
另據大聯盟官網刊出休瓦特的說法，暫時下放陳偉殷到小聯盟是「最明智且合理」的調度，球隊對他接下來長局數先發的表現有些顧慮，陳偉殷每次先發都達到一定的用球數，幾乎都逼近極限。
